Japanese sweet tea?

Yesterday, some students, Mike and I went to Teaism Café, which is a Japanese restaurant. I ordered beef ochazuke (boiled rice with tea poured on it; simple meal) and Japanese sweet tea. Before ordering, I thought Japanese tea is not sweet but I ordered and it tasted so bad, the worst tea I’ve ever drunken!!!! But ochazuke was so good!! But it was a little Americanized. At the store, there are some Koi (carp). The koi were beautiful, some are white, some are gold….. In Japan, there are many koi, so when I saw the koi, I remembered Japan.

Many places have koi here. One of my favorite places in Washington is the National Arboretum, which is a kind of "tree museum." There are many large, beautiful koi in a pool there.

Are you a little homesick? Don't worry because you will be back in Japan before you realize it! But I know you will take advantage of each day's experiences while you are here so that you return home with many precious memories.

Hi, Tomoya!

We also couldn't get plastic bottles of non-sweet Japanese tea in America^^;; If you want to drink non sweet drinks, go CVS and buy water, and go a chinese restaurant near the university of MD and buy some teabags^^! Try it!
